It is in a good location for the subway and some shopping.
It was very noisy - there was a lot of street noise especially early in the morning. There is no lift. The bed was comfortable; hoowever, the towels were an iffy white.
The location is excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel felt very safe and secure. An excellent budget choice.
The rooms are very small, as are the bathrooms. Shampoo and soap are not provided unless you count the little one-use packets, so bring your own. There is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow.
The location is super and staff is excellent and friendly but the room looked sort of shabby and towels were so grey that I believe hotel could replace them with newer ones.
We guy at reception was extremely helpful, our room was nicely decorated.
The only problem with the hotel is the stairs very steep and we were on the 4th. Floor once we were in our room we were reluctant to go down again.
The only think good was the proximity to our family who were staying a nearby apartment.
It was poorly decorated. The pillows were too firm. The worst was the sounds. There were terrible noises that tortured us every night. There was no way to drown out the clicking noises or the water dripping because the room was hot and we had to keep the window open. Also we could hear people in the next room as they sneezed, coughed, or used the toilet. It was aweful!! There was nothing luxurious or even comfortable about this. The room was at the top of floor flights of spiral stairs which we had to carry up our own luggage. It was terrible.
The excellent location and the efficient and friendly staff. Close to two metro stations and other left bank attractions within walking distance. Hotel happy for us to leave luggage and pick up later. Room and facilities cleaned daily.
The hotel was in a great location to a lot of major site seeing in Paris. The room was spacious.
I did not care for the cleanliness of the hotel- sheets and towels were stained. You have to leave your key at the desk when leaving the hotel for a day. The breakfast was ok- no options just mainly bread and crossants.
Great atmosphere, best location in Paris, stylish, excellent dining access
could use firmer mattressess
I like its simplicity: it supplies what it says, pleasantly, comfortably, without frillsor pretensions. It has managed to retain its charm as an old hotel even while being refurbished and provided with some modern conveniences (such as wifi) .
Wonderful localization, nice rooms, good breakfast
The Manager and the comfortable bed.
The Manager made the best of a bad situation - he is the only staff "I do every thing - its like the 19th century here" . He works very hard but it is unreasonable to expect one person to do everyhting. We conclude the owner is being exploitative. Not surprisingly the hotel cannot deliver a good experience. The bed was very comfortable. The decor was shabby but not chic. Desperate need of a revamp, particulary the bathroom which is old fashioned and fairly horrible.
The 10 euro breakfast was pretty good value for money. The 24 hour reception was very convenient and the staff were all very nice. The bathroom was very large, nice clean large shower.
It didn't have a lift which was not a problem for us as we were only on the first level. But it's a 5 level hotel, so would not be good if you stayed on the top floor. Also did not have airconditioning, so would be bad to stay in the heat of summer. You can also hear all the other rooms flushing their toilets in the night. Also the water pressure was inconsistent so the shower was hot then cold...
The staff. were helpful and practical Our twin room actually had two double beds, which was much appreciated. Great central location.
Room decor was rather worn, but clean.
Great room, with two huge beds, very comfortable. It has a certain intimate Paris flare to it, wooden floors, narrow staircases, a piano in the living room. Its nice.
The room was on a 5th floor without elevator - fine if you have only light luggage, but can be a misery if you have a bulky case. Then, there is no place in the bath space to hang/hold the shower-head - read once that this saves loads of water, which is nice, but at the expense of comfort and relaxation which is what one needs when traveling.
Excellent location!!!!! Good predisposal of people working there.
Colour towels (you can´t see if they're really clean). Nevertheless, every time I asked to change them to white ones, they did. Room carpet wasn't clean; although I complain about it, they did not take any action.
